About the Author

Ana Morais Soares is a Portuguese crochet designer and a lifetime creative. She took the first steps in crochet at the age of 8, guided by her grandmother. Adolescence was devoted to knitting but the crochet bug was always there. It came out again some years ago. After a publishing and public relations career, crafts won her full attention. Besides crochet and knitting Ana also loves to sew. Her creations are shown under Menta & Pimenta Crafts and Oneskeinoflove Crochet names, on Facebook. You can find her crocheted life on her personal Instagram account or in her blog and get her patterns on Ravelry, Etsy and Love Crafts yarn companies and magazines. She also designs for some yarn companies. Ana lives in Cascais, near the sea yarn companies and magazines, with her husband, two sons and four cats.

Mosaic Crochet

Easy, fun, modern and elegant, is how I describe Mosaic Crochet. You may have seen the two mosaic patterns in my previous book, “Cosy Crochet Blankets to Snuggle Under”, released in 2019. I really enjoyed designing and making those blankets and since then, Mosaic Crochet has become my go-to technique of choice. Not only is it addictive, it is also relaxing to do. Almost anybody can master this technique, it is so easy to learn. But be aware... Once you try it, you probably won’t be able to stop!

Author’s Message

I have been a crafty woman, ever since I can remember. I love everything about yarn, hooks, needles, and fabrics. And this crafting passion started very early, with two women to blame - my grandmother and my mother.

As a child, I remember those early afternoons at my grandmother’s house, with my mother, her sisters, and my great-aunts all sitting together, chatting and crocheting. You may not believe it, but these women always had something on their hooks! We would take a break in the middle of the daily crocheting session to have a snack with coffee, juice, hot bread, and cake. Sweet moments in all aspects.

I present to you my second crochet book. It is all about my addiction to Mosaic Crochet. I hope you love the blanket patterns created for the book and that you have lots of fun making them.
